John Kennedy archive with signed letter as Senator

 

Archive to include a single page typed letter, 6.25" x 9.25," on letterhead of United States Senate, Washington D.C. letterhead. Dated May 4, 1954," and signed by Kennedy as "John Kennedy."  Accompanied by a United States Senate, Kennedy Free Franked manila envelope with Kennedy's printed signature to the right corner, and a typed letter from Thruston Morton, Assistant Secretary, in response to Kennedy's inquiry, 8" x 10.5." The group are in near fine condition with the envelope torn open along the top.

 

John Kennedy responds to an inquiry from Miss Angelina Loverra regarding securing information on Italy for her training classes. He noted "I am immediately contacting the Department of State … for any material they have available…." The included letter from Thurston Morton on Department of State letterhead refers to Kennedy's inquiry on behalf of Miss Angelina Loverro[sic, suggesting "you may wish to refer her to The Embassy of Italy, Washington, D.C. Another source would be the National Geographic Society, Sixteenth and M Streets…. " Both this response letter and the original inquiry where then mailed back to Kennedy (who presumably forwarded them on to Miss Angelina Loverra in the Free franked envelope at is addressed to her).
