Signed program
Signed program from the "Testimonial Dinner in honor of Melvyn B. Donovan" held at the Grand Ballroom in the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, CA. The event was held June 4th 1975, just a few weeks before the disappearance of Hoffa, with this event being one of the last he would attend. The cover features a large green shamrock with a black and white photograph of Donovan's face superimposed on it. The program is signed by Donovan as "Merv Donavan" and signed and inscribed by Hoffa "To Jim, Good Luck, James R. Hoffa." Some toning, with program cover detached, but remainder of the book is intact and features a nice signature, likely one of his last. The program measures 6" x 9" and is accompanied by a full LOA from JSA Authentication.

Jimmy Hoffa was a prominent American labor union leader who served as the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) from 1957 until his imprisonment in 1967. Born on February 14, 1913, in Brazil, Indiana, Hoffa became one of the most influential figures in labor movements, advocating for workers' rights and better wages. His career was marked by his aggressive tactics and deep connections with organized crime, which ultimately led to his downfall. Hoffa's mysterious disappearance on July 30, 1975, has remained one of America's most enduring mysteries, sparking numerous theories and investigations but leaving his fate unresolved.

Mervyn Donovan is a less well-known figure compared to Hoffa but played a significant role within the labor movement, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s. Donovan was a key ally of Hoffa, often seen as his right-hand man within the Teamsters. His work focused on organizing efforts and maintaining the union's strength during turbulent times. Unlike Hoffa, Donovan managed to avoid the intense scrutiny and criminal investigations that plagued many of his contemporaries, but his contributions were crucial in supporting Hoffa's leadership and the broader goals of the Teamsters' union.
