Stork, Nolan Herndon, Tom Griffin, David J. Thatcher, Ed Horton, Frank G. Kappeler, Robert L. Hite, Richard E. Cole, Davy Jones, Jack A. Sims, Chase J. Neilson and Tung Sheng Liu (1917-2009), a Doolittle "honorary Raider" who helped in the rescue and escort efforts to ensure the safety of the pilots after they landed in China.

Additionally signed by the author, Carroll V. Glines, a retired Air Force colonel and author of 36 biographies on aviation and military heroes.

James H. Doolittle (1896-1993) is as much known for his far-reaching contributions to aviation and flight technology as he is for his heroic military service. The World War I flying cadet was a test and demonstration pilot during the interwar period, successfully making the first transcontinental flight from Florida to California in 1922. A true aviator, he advocated for the universal expanded use of flying instruments, and later influenced combat flight policy.

On April 18, 1942, Doolittle commanded the famous raid that bears his name, when 16 American B-25's set off on a harrowing one-way mission to drop bombs on four cities in mainland Japan. It was the first U.S. retaliatory attack since Pearl Harbor, and was a huge morale booster on the home front. Doolittle was awarded the Medal of Honor for his part in the Doolittle Raid. During the rest of the war, Doolittle served in England and in the African and Mediterranean theaters.
