With wonderful provenance having been acquired at auction from the estate of Eliza Sullivan, caretaker of Jacqueline's mother.

A lovely, very personal thank you letter written by Jacqueline Kennedy to her mother's caretaker, Eliza Sullivan. The letter evokes a wonderful sense of warmth and appreciation shown below in full:

"Dear Eliza

Your Russian Christmas ornament is perfectly beautiful and looked lovely on our tree. You were sweet to send me such a perfect present.

I hope all goes well with you and that we will see each other before too long.

Always affectionately

Jackie"

Provenance: Eliza Sullivan (1935-2012) first worked for Jacqueline's mother, Janet Lee Auchincloss in 1979, and became very close with the family. When Mrs. Auchincloss became ill in the early 1980s the family turned to Elisa to help care for her as a personal companion. She stayed on at Hammersmith Farm after Janet's passing in 1989, and when Jackie passed away in 1994, Elisa was retained by Hugh D. Auchincloss III (known as "Yusha") as a personal housekeeper, cook, and book keeper. She continued working for Yusha until his own death in 2011.
