Three appraisers prepared this inventory and appraisal of the property owned by Josiah Martin when he died. His estate included twelve slaves, valued at from $150 to $600 each, for a total of $4,345.

Josiah Martin (1798-1848) was born in South Carolina. In 1819, he married Elizabeth Roberts (1798-1872) in North Carolina, and they settled in Union County, South Carolina. They had at least eight children over the next twenty years. He died in Georgia, and his widow Elizabeth Martin served as the administratrix of his estate with the assistance of their son William A. Martin (1828-1909).

Isaac Peeler (1779-1877) was a planter in Union County, South Carolina.

Gibson Rickman (b. 1786) was a planter in Union County, South Carolina.

Thomas R. M. Patrick (b. 1814) was a farmer in Union County, South Carolina.

All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***
