Harding & Coolidge Signed Certificates Related to Dr. Charles Armstrong, World-Renowned Meningitis & Polio Researcher

Three medical certificates signed by Presidents Warren G. Harding (1865-1923) and Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933), granted to recipient Dr. Charles Armstrong (1886-1967), an epidemiologist and career employee of the Public Health Service whose research greatly increased our understanding of some of the most virulent diseases of the twentieth century. The awards, though in only fair to good condition, trace Dr. Armstrong's career promotions during the 1920s, when he was awarded the ranks of Passed Assistant Surgeon and Surgeon.
