George H. W. Bush Signed Vice President Card, Pamphlet, & Typed Letter

A group of three signed items by Vice President and later President, George H. W. Bush, including a signed typed letter, a color pamphlet about the U.S.S. San Jacinto, and an official vice presidential card. Details about the three are as follows:

1. Typed Letter Signed "George Bush". 1p, measuring 6.5" x 8.5", Houston, Texas, dated December 31, 1999. Addressed to Harold Wiesenthal, thanking him for Christmas presents. In part: "Both George and Jeb raved about their Christmas presents and, of course, I am thrilled with the beautiful Oxford that Critt sent along to me. I have the fax from Mike Cohen but, Harold, I honestly believe it would be better not to commercialize the Christmas presents I gave to George and Jeb…this time I respectfully ask you to tell Mike Cohen that we better pass…" Boldly signed in blue ink. The letter is accompanied by a small postcard advertising Texas' Harold's western wear shop.

2. Vice President Card Signed "George Bush". Measuring 6.25" x 3.5", no place [Washington, D.C.], n.d. An official Vice President of the United States card, with a gold eagle at the top. Signed in blue ink.

3. U.S.S. San Jacinto Pamphlet Signed "George Bush". 4pp of a bifolium, measuring 8.5" x 11", no place, dated 1992. A colored pamphlet about the U.S.S. San Jacinto CVL-30, including ship's records, a list of officers, a copy of the Presidential Unit Citation, and background on the ship.

George Herbert Walker Bush (1924-2018) served as Vice President of the United States from 1981-1989, and then President from 1989-1993. As a young man, Bush served in the Pacific theater during WWII, and his torpedo bomber squadron was assigned to the USS San Jacinto.

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
