A January 20, 1981 Inauguration Day cover commemorating Greenwich, Connecticut, the boyhood home of the 43rd U.S. Vice President and future 41st U.S. President George H.W. Bush (1924-2018), signed by him as "George Bush." Also signed by the then Second Lady and future First Lady Barbara Bush (1925-2018), as "Barbara Bush." Postmarked from Greenwich, Connecticut on January 20, 1981, and bearing a cancelled 15-cent "The Land of the Free / The Home of the Brave" stamp. Bearing two embossed cachets, the top depicting the White House, captioned "George Bush / Vice President of the United States / January 20, 1981"; and the bottom depicting the presidential seal, captioned "Greenwich, Connecticut / Vice President Bush's Boyhood Home." Near pristine. 6.5" x 3.625." Accompanied by a James Spence Authentication Letter of Authenticity, certification number BB38938, dated March 3, 2020.

George H.W. Bush's family relocated from Milton, Massachusetts to Greenwich, Connecticut in 1925 to pursue work opportunities for Prescott Bush. The Bush family lived in a house on Grove Lane near the Greenwich Library in Greenwich, Connecticut. Bush attended the Greenwich Country Day School from 1929-1937. In 1941, Bush met his future wife Barbara Pierce at a Greenwich country club holiday party.

George H.W. Bush served as Vice President from 1981-1989, and then as President from 1989-1993.

All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
