Description:

Bush George H. W. 1924 - 0 George Bush signed typed acceptance speech for the nomination as Vice President on the Republican National ticket

Three page typed document, 8.5' x 11", dated Thursday July 17, 1980. Signed and inscribed by George Bush as "George Bush", the VP nominee on the republican presidential ticket with Ronald Reagan. Faint vertical fold, two of the pages have border edge toning and the third page is overall toned, with slightly faded inscription.

A lovely example of George Bush's acceptance speech, spoken at Detroit, for the position of the Vice President as running mate with Ronald Reagan on behalf of the Republican ticket for the upcoming Presidential campaign. Neatly signed and inscribed by him as "To: Mark Nehatte/Best Wishes/George Bush". Several interesting commentary of his acceptance speech are 'it's up to each and every one of us to help carry Ronald Reagan's message of a strong free America ...", "Let there be no mistake: Though Jimmy Carter has in the past four years been a failed President, he is a formidable campaigner ...", " We have a great mission, not unlike that great mission undertaken by our party 28 summers ago, when another great republican leader, Dwight Eisenhower, began his campaign to restore the faith of the American people in their government ..."

Perhaps speeches such as this, designed to usher in change, has been the back bone of American politics since inception. An excellent George Bush signed and inscribed thought provoking example of the period.
