Four Oversized NewsMap Posters of China's Involvement in WWII

A group of four oversized NewsMap posters relating to China's involvement in the Second World War. All measure 47" x 35" when unfolded and date from 1945-1946. All but one of the posters are double-sided, featuring a map on one side and photographs or additional text on the other. With flattened folds and creasing, some have started separations or caused small tears. Still very attractive and all are in good condition.

Includes the following:
1. NewsMap, Volume IV, No. 43F: "The World Grows Smaller" (double-sided). U.S. Government Printing Office, Prepared and Distributed by Army Information Branch, February 11, 1946. One side features a globe and a small timeline from 1816-1945, detailing the exploration and "shrinking" of the world. The other side features General George C. Marshall's mission to Chungking to promote "Unity in China."
2. NewsMap, Volume IV, No. 13B and 13F: "Burn This Thought Into Your Minds" (double-sided). U.S. Government Printing Office, Prepared and Distributed by Army Information Branch, July 16, 1945. One side features a statement by General Somervell, while the other has a detailed timeline of eight years of war in China, from 1937-1945.
3. NewsMap, Volume III, No. 51B: "China: Southeast Coast." U.S. Government Printing Office, Prepared and Distributed by Army Information Branch. A large map of the southeast coast of China, with inserts of Shanghai, Wenchow, Foochow, Swatow, Canton, and Hong Kong.
4. NewsMap, Volume IV, No. 18B and 18F: "The Knockout Blows Fall." (double-sided). U.S. Government Printing Office, Prepared and Distributed by Army Information Branch. One side shows a large map of the coast of China, with details of the Soviet Union declaring war on Japan, Chinese troops advancing into China, the dropping of the two atomic bombs, and attacks from the sea. The other side has numerous pictures of Advance Base Sectional Docks [ABSDs], which the Navy used as floating dry docks in the Pacific Ocean.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
