Five Important Court Decisions Signed by Four Members of the Warren Court

A group of five typescript court decisions signed by Supreme Court justices William Brennan, Tom Clark, Potter Stewart, and Earl Warren. All measuring 8.5" x 11", dating from 1952 to 1969. With a few pencil notations in an unknown hand, along with a few instances of indentations made by a removed paper clip. All boldly signed. Includes the following:

William J. Brennan Jr. Signed Document. 7pp, No place, dated 1957. A typed decision for the case "Roth v. United States and Alberts v. California" signed "Wm J Brennan Jr."

Tom C. Clark Signed Document. 2pp, No place, dated 1952. A typed decision for the case "Youngstown Co. v. Sawyer" signed "Tom C. Clark."

Tom C. Clark Signed Document. 9pp, No place, dated 1961. A typed decision for the case "Mapp v. Ohio" signed "Tom C. Clark" and dated by Clark "8/28/69."

Potter Stewart Signed Document. 8pp, No place, dated 1964. A typed decision for the case "Reynolds v. Sims" signed "Potter Stewart."

Earl Warren Signed Document. 8pp, No place, dated 1966. A typed decision for the case "Miranda v. Arizona" signed "Earl Warren."

All four justices served on the Warren Court, led by Chief Justice Earl Warren from 1953 to 1969. The Warren Court is often considered the most liberal court in US history, expanding civil rights, civil liberties, judicial power, and federal power in several dramatic ways. It has been widely recognized that the court began and led the "Constitutional Revolution" in the United States. The court oversaw desegregation in the U.S., most notably with the Brown v. Board of Education decision in 1954.
