Fish hook attached to a 4.5" x 3.5" printed card, tagged "From the Zane Grey Fishing Tackle Collection."

Grey's younger son Loren Grey states in the introduction to his father's "Tales of Tahitian Waters" that Zane Grey fished, on average, 300 days a year through his adult life.

In part: "This item No. 154, described as Pflueger Sobey Hook 14/0 on card, is from a collection of fishing tackle bought by me from George Chamberlain [who] purchased this tackle ... from a family member of Romer Grey, the eldest son of Zane Grey..."

According to Zane Grey's West Society: "At one time, Zane Grey held the following records for deep sea fishing.
