FDR Thanks Collector for "Interesting Cover" & Fantastic Cover from Personal Collection! Ex. Harmer
Letter

Typed Letter Signed & Cover from the personal collection of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The letter, dated October 27, 1938, and written on official White House stationery is addressed to stamp collector William Wolff, Esq. The letter thanks Wolff for sending an "interesting cover" that Roosevelt was delighted to add to his collection and is signed boldly in black ink as "Franklin D. Roosevelt." Included is an original commemorative National Air Mail Week cover celebrating both the 20th anniversary of U.S. Air Mail service and Erving's 100th anniversary. The back of the envelope is stamped "From the Franklin D. Roosevelt Collection – Authenticated by H.R. Harmer Inc., N.Y.", indicating its origin from FDR's personal philatelic archive, one of the most renowned presidential stamp collections in American history. Expected mailing folds to letter, some toning, boldly signed. The letter measures 7" x 9" and the cover measures 6.5" x 3.5."

Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, was not only a world leader but also an avid philatelist. His love of stamp collecting was well-known and served as both a personal passion and a diplomatic tool. During his presidency, FDR personally reviewed stamp designs and frequently corresponded with fellow collectors and enthusiasts.

The envelope itself, bearing the H.R. Harmer authentication stamp, was part of Roosevelt's official philatelic estate, which was auctioned following his death in 1945. Covers from his personal collection are highly sought after due to their dual provenance: significant postal history and presidential association.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
