Bush George H. W. 1924 - 0 Enormous White House Christmas card signed by President and Mrs. Bush, 1990

Matted Christmas card depicting a reproduction of a colorful painting of The Oval Office at Christmas by New York interior designer Mark Hampton with the decorated tree at left, 10" x 13". The surrounding mat includes the raised embossed Presidential seal, and is additionally secured with a corner bands to a larger decorative red folder which also contains a large raised embossed Presidential seal located on the folder interior. Full folder size of 11" x 14". Boldly signed and inscribed by both George and Barbara Bush as "To Rex Scouter / With Admiration / George Bush, Barbara Bush". Pristine condition.


An extraordinary card both in its sheer size format, and in its stunning artistic rendering of the Oval Office at Christmas time. Fine condition with vibrant signatures of the Bushes. The card is dated 1990 and states "With our warmest for a blessed Christmas and a peaceful new year / The President and Mrs. Bush / 1990" . The recipient of the card, Rex Scouton (1924-2013), held a very long career with the White House in numerous roles including as a member of the Secret Service between 1947-60, an assistant White House usher 1960-69, White House Chief Usher 1969-86, and White House Curator 1986-1997.

Would present very well framed.
