Donald Trump 2nd Inauguration U.S. Capitol-Flown Flag, With Ties to CA Republican Congresswoman
Other

An American flag flown at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 20, 2025 to mark the Second Inauguration of 47th U.S. President Donald J. Trump (born 1946). The 3' x 5' 100% nylon U.S.-made American flag has two brass grommets along the left edge. The stiff fabric is slightly rumpled from being folded and stored, else pristine. Housed in a cardboard box labeled in part: "KIM, YOUNG / RM. H-2439 / ID: 222840 / 2025-006608-04." Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, serial number 2025-006608-04, contained in a manila envelope. The COA originally affirmed by Thomas E. Austin, Architect of the Capitol, reads in part: "This is to certify that the accompanying flag was flown over the United States Capitol on January 20, 2025. At the request of the Honorable Young Kim, Member of Congress, this flag was flown in honor of the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump… Make America Great Again!" The cardboard box measures 12.5" x 9.375" x 1.625" overall.

U.S. Congresswoman Young Kim (born 1962), a Republican, currently represents California's 40th district (San Bernadino, Riverside, and Orange counties). Born in South Korea and educated in Guam and Hawaii, Kim relocated to California to complete her college degree at University of Southern California. Kim was a businesswoman and financial analyst before serving in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2021 to the present.

Donald J. Trump was administered the presidential oath of office on January 20, 2025. The swearing-in took place inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda instead of the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building due to inclement weather. This was the first time the ceremony was held indoors since the second inauguration of 40th U.S. President Ronald Reagan in 1985.
