[Dealer's Lot] Thirteen Items from Various Notables, Eleven Signed: Strube, Wanamaker, Gandhi, Baden-Powell, etc. 

This fantastic group consists of 12 signed items from notable artists, politicians, musicians, authors, military figures, and athletes. Dating from approximately 1900 to 1986. Includes the following:

1. Sidney Strube Typed Letter Signed "STRUBE". London, dated October 21, 1931. Addressed to Miss. P.E. Jones, offering to send her a reproduction of one of his cartoons. Strube (1891–1956) was a British cartoonist.
2. Janos P. Weissmuller Note Card Signed "Johnny Weissmuller". No place, [February 11, 1946". Inscribed "To Albert". Weissmuller (1904-1984) was an American swimmer and Olympian.
3. John Wanamaker Typed Letter Signed "John Wanamaker". Philadelphia, dated August 25, 1914. A thank you letter addressed to Horace Keefer. Wanamaker (1838-1922) was an American merchant and religious, civic, and political figure.
4. Benno Moiseiwitsch Autograph Letter Signed "Benno Moiseiwitsch". Sneyd, England, dated May 22, 1954. Addressed to an unknown recipient, accepting an invitation to dinner. Moiseiwitsch (1890-1963) was a Russian-born British pianist.
5. Ernest Seton Typed Letter Signed "Ernest Thompson Seton". Greenwich, Connecticut, dated December 29, 1921. Addressed to the Editor of The Girl Guides Gazette, stating he will try to write a camping letter soon. Seton (1860-1946) was a wildlife artist and author, and one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America.
6. Robert Baden-Powell Clipped Signature "Robert Baden Powell". No place, undated. Baden-Powell (1857-1941) was a British Army officer and founder of the world-wide Girl Scouts.
7. Jacques-Yves Cousteau Photograph Signed "To Michael! JY Cousteau". A black and white photograph, no place, undated. Cousteau (1910-1997) was a French explorer, conservationist, and filmmaker.
8. Rajiv Gandhi Small Card Signed "Rajiv Gandhi 24.2.86." Accompanied by a typed letter signed by the Prime Minister's Social Secretary, Rajeshwari Tandon, sending the autograph to David R. Larson. Gandhi (1944-1991) became the youngest Prime Minister of India in 1984 after the assassination of his mother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He himself was later assassinated by a member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
9. Yitzhak Rabin Typed Letter Signed "Y. Rabin". Jerusalem, dated May 13, 1974. A thank you letter addressed to David R. Friedman. Rabin (1922-1995) was the fifth Prime Minister of Israel and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, who served two terms before his assassination by an extremist who opposed the Oslo Accords.
10. Jack Nicklaus Signed Color Photograph "Jack Nicklaus". No place, undated. An image of Nicklaus playing golf, signed at the lower right. Nicklaus (1940-) was a professional golfer nicknamed "The Golden Bear".
11. Typed Letter with Printed Signature "Elihu Root". Washington, D.C., dated December 28, 1900. Addressed to Admiral W.T. Sampson, regarding volunteer regiments. Root (1845-1937) served as Secretary of State under President Theodore Roosevelt and as Secretary of War under Roosevelt and McKinley.
12. Robert Baden-Powell Artwork with Printed Signature "Baden-Powell". No place, undated. An illustration of Safari in Kenya, captioned "Good camping to you, wherever you be, In nineteen hundred and thirty three."

Letters have flattened folds. Varying degrees of soiling, toning, wear, etc. Please refer to the photographs for further condition.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

We do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
