A fantastic group of ten books, some signed, in alphabetical order by author's surname:

1.) The Ability to Kill by Eric Ambler. London: The Bodley Head, 1963. First Edition, Second Issue.
Signed and inscribed on the front free endpaper, "This is the one about decoration - love Eric Ambler". 222pp, 5.25" x 8". Red cloth boards with gilt titling show corner and edge wear. Foxing to the text block. Inner pages lightly toned. Lightly nicked dust jacket is in very good condition, with a small stain along the top of the spine which is also found to the upper edge of the front panel. Book is in very good condition.

2.) Northern Farm by Henry Beston. New York: Rinehart & Company, Inc., 1948. First Edition. First Printing. Signed and inscribed on the front free endpaper, "For Charles B. Campbell, Esqr; with grateful good wishes from his friend at the Northern Farm / Henry Beston". 246pp, 5.5" x 8.25". Dust jacket with mylar cover is present and is in near very good condition with chipping, soiling, and staining to the front. Green cloth boards with partial black spine and gilt titling show edge and corner wear. Soiling and toning to text block. Inner pages clean with minor toning. In very good condition. Tucked in to the volume is an autograph letter signed, " Henry Beston", 2pp, 8.25" x 11", Nobleboro, Massachusetts, April 24, 1944, to a Mrs. White with a request for "those excellent State of Maine white wool stockings" and "that blessed State of Maine fine hand soap..."

3.) Auguries of Innocence by William Blake. New York: Grossman, 1968. First printing of this edition. Unsigned. 14pp, 6" x 9.5". Illustrated throughout with wood engravings by Leonard Baskin. A facsimile of the Gehenna Press edition, designed by Baskin himself. Green paper covered boards with black embossed titling. Inner pages clean. Housed in a matching publisher's slipcase in very good condition, with minor soiling, toning, chipping, and edge wear. No dust jacket, as issued. In near fine condition.

4.) The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll. London: MacMillan and Co., 1876. Nine illustrations by Henry Holiday. One page of publisher's advertisements at rear. Unsigned. 83pp, 5" x 7.5". Tan cloth pictorial boards exhibit chipping, minor cockling, and soiling, with a small stain at front. Rear board is slightly pulled away from the binding, the spine cloth is lightly chipped and pulling away from the backing, showing some missing cloth along the spine. Black end papers show creasing and minor cracking, with a small tear and loss at front free endpaper. Gilt edges. Inner pages with an occasional stain and a few dog eared pages. In good condition.

5.) The Constant Mistress by Enid Clay. London: The Golden Cockerel Press, 1934. Limited Edition number 244 of 300. With six woodcut engravings by Eric Gill. Signed on the limitation page by both Clay and Gill. 41pp, 6" x 8.75". Issued as a sister volume to Clay's Sonnets & Verses. Tan paper covered boards show toning and discoloration. Titling label adhered at spine. Deckle edge pages are clean and crisp. Endpapers with pencil notations from previous collector. Intact tissue guards. In very good condition.

6.) The Luck of Roaring Camp by Francis Bret Harte. First Edition, Second Issue containing the story "Brown of Calaveras". Unsigned. 256pp, 4.75" x 7.25". Blind embossed green cloth boards with gilt spine titling and brown endpapers. Ownership signature in pencil dated 1870 at front flyleaf. Boards show edge and corner wear, with rubbing and scuffing. Soiling and minor wear to the text block. Age toning to pages, with light dampstaining to some page edges. In very good condition.

7.) Texts & Pretexts by Aldous Huxley. London: Chatto & Windus, 1932. Limited edition number 79 of 214 copies of which 204 are for sale. Signed on the limitation page, "Aldous Huxley". 312pp, 6" x 9". No dust jacket, as issued. Decorative boards and red cloth spine with gilt titling. Deckle edge pages exhibit age toning. Edge and corner wear to the boards. In very good condition.

8.) The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg by Mark Twain. London: Chatto and Windus, 1900. Unsigned. 414pp, 5.25" x 7.5". Advertisement catalog bound in at rear. Orange cloth pictorial boards, front stamped in yellow and black. Gilt titling to spine. Top edge gilt. Decorative endpapers. A few scattered pencil notations at front. Age toning with occasional foxing to inner pages. Boards are soiled with wear and fraying at edges and bumping at corners. Wear at spine ends with light sunning and splits in the cloth. Shaken binding. In good condition.

9.) Doctor Ox by Jules Verne. Boston: James R. Osgood and Company, 1875. Translated by George M. Towle. Special red and green holiday edition. Unsigned. 292pp, 4.25" x 6". Green cloth boards embossed in black at front and blind embossed at back and spine. Gilt titling to spine. Red text block. Coated dark green end papers. Boards show edge and corner wear, with rubbing and a shaken binding. Inner pages are age toned. In very good condition.

10.) Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1952. First Edition, First Printing, with "A" and publisher's colophon on copyright page. Unsigned. 295pp, 5.75" x 8.25". Green cloth boards with light fading at edges and sunning to spine. Previous collector's pencil notations at front free endpaper. Inner pages mostly clean, with light age toning. Dust jacket with mylar cover is in very good condition, with slight nicking, chipping and dampstaining. Not price clipped, showing the price of $3.00 to the front flap, rear flap with small corner clip. Small space sticker to lower spine of jacket. In very good condition.

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.
