An impressive dealer's lot of autographs from British royalty, nobility, military, and clergy, approximately 39 pieces, ca. 1724-1900, with the majority being from the nineteenth century. The autographed material includes autograph letters, autographs letters signed (first person and third person), autograph endorsements, signature clips, free franks, endorsed postal covers, postcards, and other ephemera. Expected wear commensurate with age, such as toning, folds, etc., else very good to near fine. Please refer to catalog photos for additional information related to condition.

ROYALTY

Edward VII (1841-1910) and Alexandra of Denmark (1844-1925)


A signature clip of the future Edward VII as "Pr. of Wales" along with a signature clip of Queen Alexandra as "Alexandra" (3 pieces)

Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh later Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900)

Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850-1942)

A 3pp autograph letter signed by Prince Arthur as "Arthur" dated March 8, 1880 containing a recommendation for bandmaster of the Coldstream Guards; a 1p autograph letter signed by Prince Arthur as "Arthur" dated March 17, 1886 on royal stationery announcing the birth of his daughter, Princess Patricia of Connaught; a signature clip signed by Prince Arthur as "Arthur." An endorsed postal cover signed by Cavendish as "Devonshire" dated June 21, 1831; a third person autograph letter signed by William Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire (1790-1858) as "the Duke of Devonshire," with a partial additional signature found within the word "Devonshire House" dated March 20, 1844; and an autograph note signed by Cavendish as "Burlington" dated June 11, 1844. Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.
