Archive of military signatures in the form of signed photos and papers, spanning two centuries. 5pp, largest measuring 10" x 8". Conditions vary, detailed below.

Lot includes:

1. Chester Nimitz (1885-1966) Autographed Letter Signed "C.W.Minitz" to lower center edge. 1p, measuring 9" x 3". March 12, 1960. Light creases to corners, with fading to ink. Signature still bold and legible. Good!

Nimitz was a U.S. Navy Fleet Admiral who led Allied naval forces to victory in the Pacific during World War II, including at Midway and the Philippines. After the war, he served as Chief of Naval Operations, guiding the Navy into the postwar era.

2. Ambrose Everts Burnside (1824- 1881) Signature on cut paper " A.E. Burnside" U.S.S typed underneath. 1p, measuring 3.25" x 3". Slight creases and fold to upper left corner. Else good.

Burnside was a Union general during the American Civil War, known for his leadership at battles such as Antietam and Fredericksburg. After the war, he served as Governor of Rhode Island and later as a U.S. Senator.

3. Mark Wayne Clark (1896-1984). Black and white photograph on semi-gloss paper, signed " To Sam W. Folson, / With the warmest regards / of / Mark W. Clark". 1p, measuring 8" x 10". Blank verso. Light creases to upper left corner. Else very good.

Clark was a U.S. Army general who commanded Allied forces in Italy during World War II, including the capture of Rome in 1944. He later led U.N. forces in Korea and served as Army Chief of Staff.

4. James Harold Doolittle (1896- 1993). Black and white photograph on cardstock, signed "To Sam Folsom: / With every good wish. / JH. Doolittle". Marked Courtesy Mutual of Omaha to lower left corner. 1p, measuring 10" x 8". Blank verso. Minor scattered losses to lower and upper edges. Else good.

Doolittle was a U.S. Army Air Forces general and aviation pioneer best known for leading the daring 1942 "Doolittle Raid" in Japan. He later commanded the Eighth Air Force in Europe during World War II.

5. William Westmoreland (1914-2005). Signed blue tint semi-gloss photograph "To Sam W Folsom - / With warm regards. / W. Westmoreland / Xmas '80". 1p, measuring 7.5" x 10.25", 1980. Blank verso. Light scattered creases to photo and marks to photo. Else good.

Westmoreland was a U.S. Army general who commanded American forces during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. He later served as Army Chief of Staff, overseeing the postwar transition period.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house world-wide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses that proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third-Party Shipping Option: If a third-party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers. For your protection, we will require a signed release from you, confirming your authorization for us to release your lots to your specified third-party. At that point, our responsibility and insurance coverage for your item(s) ceases. Items picked up by third-party shippers are required to pay Connecticut sales tax. Items requiring third-party shipping due to being oversized, fragile or bulky will be denoted in the item description.
