A nice collection of letters, cards, photographs, and other ephemera, comprising fifteen items by eleven separate signers. Includes secretarial, autopen, or printed signatures among the very real signatures. From various places and dating from 1885 to 1963. The largest item measures 8.5" x 11". Expected wear may include toning, foxing, flattened transmittal folds, tears, chips, soiling, and staining. Overall, the collection is in very good condition.

1.) General James H. Doolittle (1896-1993). Medal of Honor recipient and aviation pioneer. A 1p typed letter signed, "J. H. Doolittle," 7.25" x 10.5", Los Angeles, California, October 1, 1971. Ex-Bill Bowman, 1975.

2.) Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969). 34th U.S. President. A 1p typed letter signed "D.E." on White House stationery measuring 6.875" x 8.875". Washington, D.C., April 6, 1956. To Brigadier General Robert Cutler. Ex-Charles Hamilton, 1972.

3.) Paul von Hindenburg (1847-1934). German field marshal and president of the Reich. Signed photo postcard with autograph note signed on verso. March 13, 1916. 5.5" x 3.5". Ex-Conway Barker, 1982.

4.) Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809-1894). American physician and poet. A 2pp autograph letter signed, "O.W. Holmes," 2pp, bifolium, Mackellar's Hotel, London, England, undated. Ex-Charles Hamilton, 1972.

5.) Julia Ward Howe (1819-1910). Author and women's suffrage leader. A 2pp autograph letter signed, "Julia Ward Howe," on one sheet measuring 4.5" x 7", Newport, Rhode Island, September 8, 1897. Ex- Shorey's Bookstore, 1963.

6.) Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973). 36th U.S. President. A 1p typed letter signed, "Lyndon B. Johnson," on United States Senate letterhead, 8" x 10.25", Austin, Texas, October 2, 1956.

8.) John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). 35th U.S. President. Printed invitation to a dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on May 23, 1963, given by the President's Club of New York. Likely secretarially signed.

9.) John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). 35th U.S. President. Signed program for Florida's Presidential Dinner on March 10, 1962, at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. Ex-Charles Hamilton.

10.) John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). 35th U.S. President. A 1p typed letter signed, on United States Senate stationery measuring 8" x 10.5", Washington, D.C., August 30, 1958. To a Mr. Don D. Wright of Seattle, Washington. Possible autopen signature.

11.) Patricia Nixon (1912-1993). First Lady of the United States from 1969 to 1974 as the wife of Richard Nixon, the 37th U.S. President. A 2pp autograph letter signed, "Patricia Nixon," on the recto and verso of a folded notecard embossed with "Mrs. Richard Nixon." No place, undated. With original transmittal envelope, not addressed. Ex-E. Alexander, 1979.

12.) Richard M. Nixon (1913-1994). 37th U.S. President. TIME magazine cover signed, "Dick Nixon," 8.25" x 11", October 31, 1960.

13.) Richard M. Nixon (1913-1994). 37th U.S. President. A 1p typed letter signed, "Richard Nixon," on his personal stationery measuring 7.25" x 10.25", no place, March 22, 1963. To Miss Maurine Chinn. Possible autopen signature.

14.) Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892). English poet. An autograph note penned on a 4.75" x 3" postcard and addressed in his hand to Edward Clifford, Esq. of London. Postmarked Haslemere, Surrey, England, April 23, 1885. Ex-Conway Barker, 1967.

15.) Rudolph Valentino (1895-1926). Italian actor. An 8" x 10" vintage matte-finish James Abbe studio portrait of Valentino in near profile signed in Italian, "Auguri Sinceri [Sincere Best Wishes] / Rudolph Valentino." Blank verso. Likely printed signature.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house world-wide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses that proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third-Party Shipping Option: If a third-party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers. For your protection, we will require a signed release from you, confirming your authorization for us to release your lots to your specified third-party. At that point, our responsibility and insurance coverage for your item(s) ceases. Items picked up by third-party shippers are required to pay Connecticut sales tax. Items requiring third-party shipping due to being oversized, fragile or bulky will be denoted in the item description.
