This pieces of Land will run into Beaver's purchase but I think Winchester will not claim more than 3 or 4 Acres within Beaver's Lines as the original Rochester will cover the Rest…As for John Beaver you may execute his Bond or not as you please. I imagine he will object to paying his Interest until he received a Bond of Conveyance…"

Charles Carroll of Carrollton's letter in response reads in part:
"I have recd yr letter of the 10th with the bond & deed therein mentioned: the Purchaser's bond I have entered in my book to wit John Beaver's, Abraham Lane's & David Lovall's, & you will receive the undermentioned bonds of conveyance & the deed to James Holmes by me duly executed, which you will cause to deliver to the parties…you will not deliver till he executes a bond to me for the balance of £75 which he owes. In my letter of the 1st instant I expressed my sentiments respecting the interference of Lines of other Treats with those of Rochester & in what manner I would wish to have these disputes settled…"
