Bruce Lee's Black Silk Fur-Lined Jacket, Worn Regularly by Him

This patterned black silk, fur-lined Chinese-style jacket was worn regularly by Bruce Lee during his years in Hong Kong. In Fine condition some large tears to the fur lining and stains to one sleeve. The jacket is currently presented in a display case, and is 32" from the top of the collar to the bottom of the jacket, and has a 55" wing span when measured from tip to tip of the arm sleeves.

A cultural icon and easily the most influential martial artist of the 20th century, Bruce Lee elevated martial arts films to a new level of popularity and in doing so sparked the first major surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West. His untimely passing in 1973 at age 32 left a void that many have tried to fill. This patterned black silk fur-lined Chinese-style jacket was worn regularly by Bruce Lee during his years in Hong Kong. In Fine condition some large tears to the fur lining and stains to one sleeve. Accompanied by a LOA from Bruce Lee's Brother, Robert Lee who writes "…I have kept this jacket among his personal items that I received after his death in 1973. This is a very special relic related to my brother."

The jacket is currently housed in an enormous spectacular box frame with several other important, original pieces by Bruce Lee.  **Please note, the other pieces will be offered separately in this auction as individual lots and will not accompany the jacket.

However, the winning bidder of the jacket may also choose to ship with or without the stunning presentation frame. The frame is 65" wide x 48" tall and will require a third party shipper.

This item comes with an authentication certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

We do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice, unless you inform us otherwise, immediately upon your receipt of invoice***

After payment has been made in full, University Archives will ship your purchase within 5 business days following receipt of full payment for item.Packages shipped internationally will have full value declared on shipping form.
