Excerpt:

"You will please deliver the enclosed letters to the Commendg officers of Brunsk, Greenville, Meckling & Lunenburg Counties. I have wrote them of your being appointed Brigade Inspector to my Brigade & to pay due respect to yr orders as such. You’l please get a List or Roaster of the officers of each of these counties & of Dinwiddie.... The Executive have order’d that all the books of Baron Steubens instructions for the disciplining troops that was given to the officers some time ago that are now out of office shd be deliver’d up to the commending officer of each county & I have wrote them accordingly.... This business it is hoped will be done with the utmost dispatch as the Govr. Council wants a return from me as soon as possible."

Joseph Jones (1727-1805) was born in Virginia, educated in Virginia and England, and became an attorney. He established a law practice in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In 1772, he won election to the Virginia House of Burgesses. He served as a Virginia delegate to the Second Continental Congress in 1777-1778 and 1780-1783. He had many objections to the federal Constitution as a member of the Virginia Ratifying Convention of 1788. He became a colonel in the Virginia militia in 1784, and gained promotions to brigadier general in 1784 and major general in 1803.

In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.
