B. B. King Archive of 7 Handwritten Sheets of Lyrics and Music

An archive of 5 sheets of handwritten lyrics and 2 music manuscripts by B.B. King. The pages of lyrics are of varying sizes and are written in blue and black ink. Includes lyrics for the songs "Baby Look at You", "Be Careful With a Fool", "Blues at Midnight", "My Big Sin", and an untitled track. The sheet for "My Big Sin" has been signed "BB" by King. Also included are two multi-page pages of sheet music, totaling 16 pages. The music is for the instrumentation for "I Know the Price" and "Lucille Talks Back", and includes the music for numerous parts. Each has been signed by King as "BB King". Minor wear and toning. Boldly signed. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information.

1. “Baby Look at You" - Performed on one of B.B. King's earliest albums titled "More BB King”, song and album both released in 1961.
2. “Be Careful With a Fool" - Recorded in 1957 by B.B. King under his prior moniker "Blues Boy”, which he later shortened to the more familiar “B.B.”, released on 78 rpm format by the fittingly named Los Angeles-based RPM Records.
3. ”Blues at Midnight" - B.B. King performed this song live, notably to an audience on April 25, 2010 at The House of Blues in Chicago, IL.
4. “My Big Sin" - Lyrics written by Fats Washington, a frequent collaborator of King's and notable songwriter in his own right. The lyrics are Initialed "BB" in lower left, and signed by BB King.
5. “Untitled" - An unpublished song, handwritten by B.B. King in blue ink on Sheraton letterhead.
6. Eight pencil-written pages of musical instrumentation for "I Know the Price." BB King's name is written on each spread. Sheets for 1st Trumpet, Tenor, Alto, Trombone. Performed on King's 1975 album, "Lucille Talks Back."

B.B King, born Riley B. King, (1925-2015) was an American blues singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer, known worldwide as “The King of The Blues”. He is highly regarded as one of the most influential musicians in popular music history and defined blues music for a worldwide audience. In a career that spanned 8 decades, he has been referred to as “the single most important electric guitarist of the last half of the 20th century”.

All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.
