A large group of 19 newspapers reporting on the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and the events that unfolded in the aftermath. A variety of publications from New York, dating from April 15, 1865, to April 26, 1865. Includes the ever-changing news of the assassination plot, as well as information on Johnson's inauguration, Jeff Davis' escape and capture, and various other military movements as the war drew to a close. These newspapers offer a fantastic perspective on the mindset of the country in the aftermath of Lincoln's death and the deep mourning that occurred. All with flatted folds. Varying degrees of soiling, toning, chipping, small tears, etc. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information. Overall very fine.

We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.
