Benjamin O. Harrison and John S. Harrison may be related to the Harrison Family of Berkeley Plantation in Virginia. The most famous members of this Virginia dynasty included Declaration of Independence signer Benjamin Harrison (1726-1781), 9th U.S. president William Henry Harrison (1773-1841), and 23rd U.S. President Benjamin Harrison (1833-1901). In the 1830s, Benjamin O. Harrison and John S. Harrison pledged their interest in a slave owned by Zachariah Bond. The slave, referred to as a "negro", was estimated at $200 in the 1830s.
