Lincoln Abraham 1809 - 1865
An original piece of wood from the original log cabin from Lincoln's Kentucky birthplace!




A 9.5" x 3" x .5" piece of wood recovered Abraham Lincoln's birthplace in Kentucky. Affixed to one side is a 3" x 2.5" slip of paper bearing an image of the reproduction of Lincoln's original log cabin at Hodgenville, Kentucky, housed beneath a matching glass cover affixed by brass tacks on the sides. The reverse bears the remnants of a label issued by the "Ladies Lincoln League" identifying the piece as a relic from the "Lincoln Farm, Birthplace of Abraham Lincoln". Two small notes written beside the label note that the piece was obtained on July 9, 1875. Expected wear but in otherwise excellent condition.

From the collection of Dr. Weldon E. Petz of Michigan, a well-known and avid collector of Lincolniana and Civil War history. Offered with a letter of provenance.

We currently ship via FedEx but if your purchase is shipping to a P.O. Box, we ship via USPS. All items are insured. We ship from our offices in Westport, CT. We may opt to use a third party shipper for very fragile, bulky or oversized items. Items requiring third party shipping will be denoted in the item description. Packages shipped internationally will have full value declared on shipping form. International buyers will be responsible for any customs fees incurred.
