Albert Speer, Hitler's Architect, Signed Letter & Photo Archive

SPEER, ALBERT. Archive of signed photographs and letters, circa 1969-1981, various sizes. Accompanied by five Certificates of Authenticity from R&R Enterprises Autograph Auctions. Items have minor wear, a few with a very slight musty odor, otherwise near Fine to Fine condition overall.

Comprises, in no particular order:

1) Typed Letter Signed, “Albert Speer”, in German, 1p, 5.75” x 8.25”, Heidelberg, February 16, 1981. Speer writes to a Mr. Vogel, translated in full, “Of Hitler’s early ministers, none is alive anymore. I am no longer a busy architect. My oldest son is a successful architect and city planner abroad.”

2) Typed Letter Signed, “Albert Speer”, 1p, 5.75” x 8”, Heidelberg, June 9, 1980. In English, Speer writes to a Mr. West, thanking him for his letter and commenting on the “incident with the U-boat”, finding it “very disturbing”. Speer adds, “Barbaric deeds have to be expected in any war, but in peace time?”

3) Black bordered sympathy thank you card sent by Speer’s daughter, Margarete Speer, upon the death of her father, 6.75” x 4.25”. With original black-bordered mailing envelope. Preprinted on the front of the card, “We loved and respected him”.

4) Autograph Letter Signed, “Albert Speer”, 2pp on a bifold sheet, 6” x 8.25”, Heidelberg, June 9, 1972. In broken English, Speer writes to an admirer regarding a postponed trip and meeting. Accompanied by the original Air Mail envelope.

5) Typed Letter Signed, “Albert Speer”, in German, 1p, 5.75” x 8.25”, Heidelberg, April 13, 1976. Speer writes to Mr. Tauber, thanking him for the birthday wishes.

6) Typed Letter Signed, “Speer”, in German, 1p on a bifold sheet, 5.75” x 8”, Heidelberg, March 30, 1969. Speer writes to a Mr. Bumball regarding documents that he sent to him via “ship mail a few days ago”.

7) Typed Letter Signed, “Speer”, in German, 1p on a bifold sheet, 5.75” x 8.25”, Heidelberg, August 12, 1970. Speer writes to a Mr. Marino, thanking him for his kind letter and agreeing to send him a photo.

8) 6.75” x 5” photograph picturing Speer standing with other uniformed officers, signed by Speer across his chest, “Albert Speer”.

9) 6” x 9” book photograph of a sitting Speer with his head in his hand, signed in the bottom border, “Albert Speer”, and dated 1980.

10) 4” x 6” photograph of Karl Donitz (1891-1980) in uniform, signed in blue felt tip at the bottom, “Donitz” and dated July 15, 1975.

11) 3.5” x 5.5” photograph of Freiherr Hasso Eccard von Manteuffel (1897-1978) in uniform, signed across his chest in blue felt tip, “F. von Manteuffel”.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house worldwide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses who proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third Party Shipping Option: If a third party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers.
