Description:

Milne A.A.

Single page ALS, 4.5" x 6", on 11 Mallord Street, Chelsea letterhead. Dated "24.8.23 and signed by A.A. Milne in full signature as "A.A. Milne". Center fold, else near fine.

A delightful letter penned by Milne to Vincent Seligman, a person whom Milne would develop a close friendship with spanning over 30 years. His letter would have been written while he was working on the first book in his Winnie The Pooh series, When We Were Very Young, which was published in 1924. Although the subject he was referencing below was not disclosed, perhaps he the two writers were reviewing his draft, as they often critiqued each other's work.

"24.8.23

Dear Seligman,

So very glad you like it best because I do too

And I'm (illegible) more glad that you thought Daff too has (illegible)… I did too (I mean of course that I thought so too)

Yours ever

A.A. Milne"

A lovely clean, early ALS with a great association.
