Description:

Lunar Meteorite
recovered from Ghadamis, Libya, ca. 2021
67.76g Gadamis 003 Lunar Meteorite
Other

This is a genuine Gadamis 003 lunar meteorite weighing approximately 67.76g. The irregular oblong specimen is grayish in appearance, with scattered white grains and reddish veins, and with a darker, smoother natural fusion crust on one end. It measures approximately 57.15 mm x 38.1 mm x 31.75 mm, or 2.25" x 1.5" x 1.25". This is a direct and unaltered piece of lunar material suitable for serious collectors and display! The item comes with a Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity provided by The Space Collective (Benson, Arizona).

This is a documented example of lunar anorthosite, a feldspar-rich rock associated with the Moon's ancient highland crust. The specimen retains a natural fusion crust formed during atmospheric entry, with lighter interior material visible where the surface has naturally broken or thinned.

This meteorite was analyzed and classified as a Gadamis 003 lunar meteorite by the Institute of Meteoritics at the University of New Mexico. The name is derived from the location where such samples were discovered, Ghadamis, Libya, in 2021. Gadamis 003 lunar meteorites have been extensively studied, and its characteristics are thoroughly documented. A full composition analysis is available to view on the Lunar and Planetary Institute website, specifically the Meteoritical Society/Meteoritical Bulletin online database.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
