A unique group of six typed letters signed by U.S. Presidents, First Ladies, or members of their staff. One of the presidential signatures is printed while another is secretarial. Dating from 1910 to 1973, they include letters from Herbert Hoover, Mamie Eisenhower, Woodrow Wilson (printed), Gerald Ford, and a close confidant of Dwight Eisenhower.
All with flattened mail folds and varying degrees of toning and soiling. A few letters have hole punches along the left edge. Bold signatures. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information.

Includes the following:
1. Typed Letter Signed "Herbert Hoover." 1p, measuring 8" x 10.5", New York, dated April 14, 1921. Addressed to Harry Wilbern on European Relief Council letterhead. A thank you letter for the aid Wilbern provided in raising 3.5 million dollars for European children.
2. Typed Letter Signed and Inscribed "Think of you often. Love Mamie Eisenhower." 1p, measuring 6.5" x 9", Gettysburg, dated November 17, 1972. Addressed to Louise Caffey on personal letterhead. A thank you letter for a birthday card.
3. Typed Letter with Printed Signature "Woodrow Wilson." 1p, measuring 8.5" x 11", Princeton, dated June 23, 1910. Addressed to John M. Harlan on Princeton letterhead. Concerning his potential candidacy for Governor and how he would work with the Democratic Party, writing "The last thing I should think of would be building up a machine of my own…"
4. Typed Letter with Secretarial Signature "Jerry Ford." 1p, measuring 8" x 10.5", Washington, D.C., dated June 14, 1973. Addressed to Frederick Casoni on House of Representatives letterhead. Responding to a request for photocopies of Richard Nixon's signature for a book on Presidential handwriting.
5. Typed Letter Signed "Howard" Snyder. 1p, measuring 8" x 10.5", Washington, D.C., dated March 2, 1955. Addressed to Gene Tunney on White House letterhead. Regarding a visit to Augusta National and playing gold with President Eisenhower.
6. Typed Letter Signed "Howard" Snyder. 1p, measuring 8" x 10.5", Denver, dated October 22, 1955. Addressed to Gene Tunney on White House letterhead. Providing an "up-to-the-minute report on the state of the President's condition" following a heart attack.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house world-wide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses that proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third-Party Shipping Option: If a third-party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers. For your protection, we will require a signed release from you, confirming your authorization for us to release your lots to your specified third-party. At that point, our responsibility and insurance coverage for your item(s) ceases. Items picked up by third-party shippers are required to pay Connecticut sales tax. Items requiring third-party shipping due to being oversized, fragile or bulky will be denoted in the item description.
