A group of four typed letters signed by Presidents Ford, Carter, and Bush Sr., as well as First Lady Barbara Bush, along with numerous ephemera relating to Jimmy Carter. Of various size, dating from 1989 to 2014. The four typed letters have flattened mail folds, else fine. All boldly signed. The accompanying ephemera has varying degrees of wear and soiling. Some uneven edges to photographs and letters. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information.

Includes:
1. Gerald Ford TLS "Gerald R. Ford". 1p, measuring 6.25" x 8.5", [Washington, D.C.], dated May 1, 1989. On Presidential letterhead addressed to Hugh S. Moorhead at Northeastern Illinois University. Reading: "Dear Professor Moorhead: Thank you for your letter of April 16, 1989 with the request to participate in a second book you plan to write. Regrettably, I must decline. I am heavily overcommitted, which precludes me from participating. I am grateful for your thoughtfulness, but hope you understand."

2. Jimmy Carter TLS "Jimmy Carter." 1p, measuring 6" x 9", [Washington, D.C.], dated March 17, 2014. On Presidential letterhead addressed to Anne Robbins. Reading: "Rosalynn and I were concerned to hear of Brennan's continuing illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Sean, and Brennan, and we hope that your faith and courage will sustain you during this difficult time." With accompanying ephemera, including one note written as Governor of Georgia; several photographs of Carter; an invitation to the White House Christmas Tree lighting; an empty book of White House matches; and miscellaneous Carter-related ephemera.

3. George and Barbara Bush Two TLS "George Bush" and "Barbara Bush". The first is 1p, measuring 6.25" x 8.5", Houston, dated December 31, 1999. On personal letterhead addressed to Harold Wiesenthal. Bush mentions both of his sons, George and Jeb, and how much they loved the Christmas presents given to them by Harold. Accompanied by a JSA certificate. The second is 1p, 6.25" x 8.5", Washington, D.C., dated June 18, 1987. On official Vice President's House letterhead addressed to Ms. Masserini. A short thank-you note "For your lovely birthday greeting." Barbara Bush adds a short postscript which reads "How very kind of you!" Accompanied by a JSA certificate.

Unless otherwise indicated, we do our own in-house world-wide shipping!

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. We offer several shipping options, and remain one of the few auction houses that proudly provides professional in-house shipping as an option to our clients. All items will ship with a signature required option, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.

Third-Party Shipping Option: If a third-party shipper is preferred, the buyer is responsible for contacting them directly to make shipping arrangements. For your convenience, we have provided some recommended shippers. For your protection, we will require a signed release from you, confirming your authorization for us to release your lots to your specified third-party. At that point, our responsibility and insurance coverage for your item(s) ceases. Items picked up by third-party shippers are required to pay Connecticut sales tax. Items requiring third-party shipping due to being oversized, fragile or bulky will be denoted in the item description.
