Description:

3 Colonial PA Newspapers with 1856 Reprint of B. Franklin's 1st Paper

A group of three colonial Pennsylvania newspapers with an 1856 facsimile of a Benjamin Franklin newspaper. The three colonial papers date from 1767 to 1772, while the 1856 paper is a reprint of a 1723 issue of Franklin's "New-England Courant." Although a facsimile, it was printed on a press used by Franklin and is still a rare and valuable issue. The newspapers have flattened folds with varying degrees of toning and foxing. Wear and light chipping to the edges and corners. Some repairs have been made with archival tape to separations at folds. There is dampstaining along the top and bottom margins of the facsimile newspaper. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information. Overall very good.
