1756 Seven Year's War Merchandise Review Doc Signed by Col. E. Hatch

A list of Merchandise received from George Craddock, Esq. who was Judge of the Court of the Admiralty. Merchandise reviewed and listed includes cordages, cables, barrels of lampblack, iron shot, and brimstone. 4pp of a bifolium, measuring 7.5" x 12.25", [Massachusetts], n.d. [ca. 1756]. The Court of the Admiralty was established by the Rule of War of 1756 to achieve uniformity of maritime supply prices and prohibition of trade with merchants from neutral nations who were also trading with the enemy during the Seven Years' War. Signed at the conclusion by Estes Hatch, Stephen Boutineaut, Thomas Jackson, Samuel Wentworth, John Hutchinson, and attr. John Payne, Register. The document has flattened folds with small separations and holes at the folds where the paper was weakened. Toning, foxing, and staining throughout. Slightly uneven edges. Boldly signed.

Colonel Estes Hatch (1689-1759) was one of the most prominent and wealthy men of Dorchester. He commanded the Troop of Cavalry in Boston and was Captain of the Tenth Company in the Third Massachusetts Regiment at Louisburg in 1745, where he led the company at the capture of Louisburg. Hatch was prominent in town affairs and held several principal military offices over the course of his life, and at the time of his death, he was a Brigadier General.

Applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to the invoice. All items will ship with signature required, and full insurance. Most items are sent via Federal Express, with P. O. Box addresses being sent through USPS. We insure through Berkley Asset Protection with rates of $.70 per $100 of value, among the lowest insurance rates in the industry. Our shipping department cameras document every package, both outgoing and incoming, for maximum security. In addition, we compare our shipping and handling rates against those of other auction houses, to ensure that our charges are among the lowest in the trade.

Upon winning your item(s), you will receive an invoice with our in-house shipping and handling fees included. ***We will ship to the address as it appears on your invoice. If any changes to the shipping address need to be made, you must inform us immediately.***

International shipments: In order to comply with our insurance provider, all international shipments will be sent via Fed Ex and customs paperwork will show a value of $1.00. International buyers should contact our office directly with any questions regarding this policy.
