United Trading for Porcelain & Art Co. – Rosenthal is located in Amman, Jordan. In the original 9” x 9” presentation box, with cover, with Royal cipher in gold. The official U.S. Government justification for accepting gifts from foreign governments is “Non-acceptance would cause the donor or the U.S. Government embarrassment.” 
Congressman Young served as Chairman of the powerful House Appropriations Committee from 1999-2004 and as Chairman of the powerful Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense from 1995-1998, 2005-2006, and from 2011 until his death in 2013, serving as the Ranking Republican from 2007-2010. The House Appropriations Committee writes the bill which includes the amount of foreign aid in the form of economic and military assistance.
Accompanied by an ornate New Year's card, 7.25" x 8.75" when closed, "The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan / 2007-2008" in gilt at lower edge of cover. Large color photograph inside, over both pages, pictures King Abdullah II, Queen Rania, and their four children. Greeting in Arabic and English: "Wishing you a blessed New Year / filled with love and peace" signed in facsimile by "Rania" and "Abdullah." With royal envelope addressed in type to "The Honorable Bill Young."
