Framed Display! Program Photograph inscribed “For Kathleen – / Try this on your piano – / with best wishes. / George Gershwin Mar. 31 ‘36.” Two facing pages, 8.5” x 11.75”. Frayed at outside edge of each page, glue stain and remnant in blank left margin of frontispiece. Double matted and framed to 25.75” x 21”. In apparent very good condition.

Opening on October 10, 1935, “Porgy and Bess” closed on January 25, 1936, after 124 performances, then went on national tour. It has been revived on Broadway six times, most recently winning the 2012 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
